- Why does ticket authentication need to change?
- Because generative tools have made a convincing forgery cheap to produce, and visual inspection was always the weak link. Pramāṇa-Sārathi shifts the check from "does this look genuine" to "can this be cryptographically proven genuine", which is a question a forgery cannot pass.
- Do ticket checking staff need new hardware?
- No. Verification runs on the handheld terminals already in use, which is the difference between a policy change and a procurement programme.
- How long does a check take?
- It is designed to verify in an instant, at the pace of an on-train or platform check. An authentication method that slows the checking staff down does not get used, however sound the cryptography behind it is.
- Does it need network connectivity at the point of check?
- Verification is designed for the realities of on-train checking, where connectivity is intermittent. Exact offline behaviour is configured to the deployment and the terminal fleet in use.
